Behind the Scenes: AW20 Shoot

“I love the buzz and excitement of shoot days. Seeing the outfits come to life from hanger to model is fantastic. The liaising between the whole team as we work together to create the vision represents everything that makes me proud to be a female businesswoman. We work together in utter harmony, we laugh, we talk, we smile, and we all want the shoot to be successful. I feel privileged to be part of such an amazing team.” Clare Morris, Founder.

Late October saw the Copper & White team reunite to tell the story behind the Autumn/Winter 2020 collection.

Taking place at Roomzzz Aparthotel and the streets of York, we had a magnificent team surrounding us on the day.

  • Clare Morris: Clare is the founder of the company, and head buyer. She curated the entire collection and was on hand all day to style the models personally
  • NIMA: Lauren Dodds and Nicky Hayer from NIMA worked with us in advance of the shoot to finalise our concepts, source locations and models, and create shot lists - so we could capture exactly what we need for our website and social channels. They were then on hand all day to organise and support.
  • Pink Lily Photography: Andrea Dennis from Pink Lily Photography has worked with us for years to capture imagery that can showcase our fashion and tell our story.
  • Sonia Schofield MUA: Sonia worked with our beautiful models to give their already glowing complexions, an additional glow. She enhanced each look with stunning everyday makeup that enhanced each woman's natural beauty.

In advance of the shoot, we began researching our concepts. We discussed ideas around stylish women powerfully strutting the streets of York, relaxing in the finest of loungewear and grabbing coffees with friends. These concepts, alongside the stunningly bold décor of Roomzzz Aparthotels and the autumnal Yorkshire scenery, wonderfully suited the up-and-coming collection.

The latest collection was incredibly befitting to the times we were living in. Working from home was still on many customer’s agendas, lounging weekends had seeped into the weekdays, and daily strolls were still the highlight of our days. This collection would be a little different for us, yet still a fusion of fun and practicality with close links to nature and vibrant patterns. We said a slight goodbye to party wear and evening wear, instead opting to curate a collection that would best suit how Copper & White women were living in that very moment. The season involved a range of vibrant accessories, transitional dresses and luxury loungewear.

When it comes to models, we are incredibly proud to have worked with some amazing women since we first launched in 2015. Our founder signs off on each model individually, always looking for that special beauty which emanates from beautiful personalities. Diversity of age, ethnicity, and sizes is important to us. Fantastic charisma, and women who champion other women. The models support and encourage each other, and that connection can often be seen through the lens. Our four models arrived on the day with an enthusiasm and excitement that inspired us all day long.

In one day, we shot the entire collection including accessories and jewellery, took on 3 locations and captured lifestyle shots for social media. It was a huge success, and we were left with stunning imagery that showcased a more city chic vibe to Copper & White.

We truly hope you enjoyed the AW20 collection, just as much as we did capturing it!
